The family owner of Bogner, the maker of winter jackets and skiwear, has
appointed Goldman Sachs to seek a buyer, sources familiar with the
matter told Reuters.

The company is expected to be marketed to private equity groups, the sources said. The process is still in the early stages.

Bogner
also sells fashionable jeans, tops and shoes but is mainly viewed as a
winter sport. Bogner CEO Willy Bogner Jr. is the son of German skiing
champion Willy Bogner, who launched the company in 1932. It initially
imported gear from Norway but soon expanded into manufacturing and first
outfitted the German national team in 1936. It had sales of €240.5
million  ($321 million) in its 2012/13 financial year.
