Bob’s Stores, which was acquired by TJX in December 2003, posted total sales were $80.9 million for the third quarter, essentially in line with plan, while operating profit came in at approximately $2.4 million, about a million dollars better than forecast. Bob’s Stores was said to have benefited from strong sales of licensed team apparel from the Red Sox World Series win. Early reads from the two stores opened this fall were said to be “very positive”.
