Black Diamond’s 13th Annual fundraising party for the Utah Avalanche Center (UAC) hosted nearly 700 backcountry enthusiasts raised more than $33,000 for the UAC, which provides daily avalanche advisories and warnings, mountain weather forecasts and avalanche education for the Wasatch Front and beyond.

An hour into the party, the skies cleared and kids and dogs splashed through puddles to the tunes of Jerry Joseph. Partygoers filled their plates courtesy of Barbacoa and their cups courtesy of the Uinta Brewing Company. Black Diamond thanks everyone who attended and participated in the event, including the Byrne family and the local artists and community members who donated silent auction items.

Colleen Graham Nipkow, Black Diamond’s Senior Marketing Manager and President of the Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center, commented on the importance of the annual fundraiser. “The skiers and riders in the Wasatch Range truly took ownership of the Utah Avalanche Center when Federal funding cuts threatened its sustainability. It is the generosity and community-mindedness of local backcountry users that allows everyone to enjoy and explore the Wasatch Range safely. Black Diamond is honored to serve as a venue for this important and inspirational event.”
