Black Diamond Equipment has become a Diamond Level Sponsor of the American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA). Black Diamond will also be the exclusive partner of the 2005 Rock Guides exams, offering aspirant guides funding and support.

Peter Metcalf, CEO of Black Diamond, comments, “Many of us at Black Diamond have been involved in the AMGA since it began, so it is gratifying to witness guiding come of age in the United States. The AMGA’s expert, rigorous certification brings both consistency and professionalism to the roles of guiding and climbing instruction, and it is an honor for Black Diamond to show our enthusiastic support of the organization through our certification sponsorship. Success builds on success, and we look forward to working with the AMGA for years to come.”

Black Diamond will grant one full tuition scholarship towards any AMGA rock, alpine or ski mountaineering course or exam. As the exclusive partner of the 2005 Rock Guides exams, Black Diamond will award each Rock Guide exam participant a total of $400, substantially lowering their overall costs for the exam. Recipients will also receive Black Diamond climbing packs and helmets.
