BKK Hooks named Michael Sullivan the president of sales, leading a team responsible for expanding commercial sales operations in the Americas. He will report to Magnus Gunnarsson, BKK America’s general manager.

“I am thrilled and honored to join the BKK team,” said Sullivan. “BKK has become an established brand across the globe, known for manufacturing cutting-edge, premium-quality hooks. Leading their already explosive sales expansion efforts in the Americas will be an incredibly exciting journey.”

Most recently, Sullivan was the VP of sales at 13 Fishing (DQC International Corp). During his nine-year tenure, the company reportedly increased sales by over 1,300 percent in the fishing rods, reels, combos, apparel, and bait business segments. BKK said that while Sullivan was at 13 Fishing, “revenue grew faster than the market to achieve solid brand positioning in a highly competitive industry.”

Before 13 Fishing, Sullivan held retail purchasing, operational, business development, and marketing roles of increasing responsibility at Target Corp. from 2006 to 2011 and subsequently at Gander Mountain from 2011 to 2014, where he led a team of buyers as the director of the Fishing Division.

“We are pleased to welcome Sully to the BKK team to lead our commercialization efforts in the Americas,” said Gunnarsson. “Sully has built a distinguished career within the retail and fishing industries, bringing more than 17 years of sales, marketing, and strategy experience that will be instrumental in growing our sales operations. This is critical as we look to continue our rapid brand growth and market penetration. I look forward to Sully’s leadership and advancing our robust commercialization strategy.”

Sullivan has a BS degree from the University of Minnesota.
