After 19+ years representing Mountain Hardwear in specialty outdoor retail channels, Bill Chandler will be transitioning into co-ownership of River Sports Outfitters in Knoxville, TN, where he will partner with industry veteran Ed McAlister. Mountain Hardwear has worked with Chandler and his Southeastern-based sales agency, Nomad, Inc., since the brand's beginning in 1993.

“Not many people or accounts know Mountain Hardwear better than Bill Chandler, Ed McAlister and River Sports Outfitters do,” said Tom Shores, who was appointed national sales manager for the brand this week as part of a major reorganizaton of its U.S. sales team. “We're looking forward to continuing to build the strong relationships and legacy that has been established as Bill moves into his new roll at River Sports.”

With Chandler's departure, the sales structure of Mountain Hardwear and Montrail will transition to a dedicated, in-house sales team in the Southeast Territory. The transition to a direct sales team model will enable the two brands to provide focused sales and service support in the Southeast regionwhere there is continued opportunity for growth within the specialty channel.

John Harvey and Hunter Orvis, who both previously represented Mountain Hardwear and Montrail with Nomad, Inc., will be joining the new in-house Southeast Territory as Sales Representatives for Mountain Hardwear and Montrail. Chris Hayes joins Mountain Hardwear as a Sales Representative in the Southeast Territory after five years as a key contributor to the Sorel and Columbia sales teams. Harvey, Orvis and Hayes will cover all key and specialty accounts inVirginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
