Steamboat Springs, CO-based camping equipment brand Big Agnes has announced efforts aimed at expanding its international sales and distribution.
Those actions include hiring new sales personnel in Europe and expanding its marketing efforts to help drive sell-through and increase global brand awareness.
The company has hired outdoor industry veteran Mark Flanagan as sales director EMEA to support existing distribution partners and to build new relationships. In the coming months, Big Agnes will invest in key personnel hires and continue its product fulfillment through Tigers Global Logistics in the Netherlands.
“After nearly two decades of continued growth in North America and several other countries, it’s exciting to add fuel to our fire with a dedicated Big Agnes team based in Europe,” said Bill Gamber, co-founder and president of Big Agnes. “We may be based in Colorado, but we love riding bikes, hiking and skiing in Europe, and we now have more reasons than ever to visit.”
“I’m thrilled to join this authentic outdoor brand and am looking forward to bringing the Big Agnes culture and its innovative camping gear to consumers via our premium dealer network,” Flanagan said. “We want to make it easier for retailers and consumers to get our gear – there’s a loyal following in the U.S. and in Europe, and we’re excited to roll into more markets.”
Flanagan and Big Agnes’ Colorado-based staff are attending the OutDoor by ISPO tradeshow with support from an Advanced Industries Export Accelerator Program grant from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Big Agnes currently distributes its products in more than 20 countries and will work to expand its network of distributors and sales agents in certain regions around the world.
