Big Agnes has opened its new European headquarters in Amsterdam. The Colorado-based outdoor equipment brand said it is now able to dedicate the resources to serve core European markets, including Benelux, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, and France.
The office is led by International Operations Manager Fred van Drie, shown right, who will manage a team dedicated to operational efficiencies and supporting client growth. By the end of 2023, five employees in the office will be responsible for customer and dealer service, operations and trade marketing across European markets.
“Though we’re one of the top camping and backpacking brands in the U.S., we have been perceived as a niche brand in Europe for a long time,” said Bill Gamber, co-founder and president of Big Agnes. “That’s changed over the last three years as we have been able to demonstrate the quality of our products and focus on sustainability, which differentiates us from the competition. The recent launch of our backpack line has also made waves in Europe, with feedback and orders far exceeding our expectations. In order to take dealer service to the next level, this step was inevitable. We’re thrilled to see Big Agnes continue to grow in Europe.”
“The service needs of our partners have always been hugely important at Big Agnes, so to sustain the rapid growth within EMEA and Asia-Pac, this investment was the logical next step,” said Mark Flanagan, international director, Big Agnes. “The new office will serve as a commercial hub for Big Agnes International and will aim to replicate our Colorado headquarters culture.”
