In a recent acquisition, Bauer Hockey has purchased intellectual property assets and patents from Jock Plus Hockey. Accordingly, this will make Bauer the only global supplier of integrated neck protection for hockey. The acquired assets will be paired with a long-term strategic agreement with DuPont Protection Technologies which will allow Bauer to market and incorporate the Kevlar fiber into the company’s new product line.

With nearly a million registered hockey players around the world required to wear neck protection, the vast majority of those players wear separate neck guard and base layer pieces. Bauer’s new product line will combine those two necessary products into one seamless, integrated, protection top, which according to Bauer, will boast revolutionary product features.

Kevin Davis, president and CEO of Bauer Hockey, offers his outlook for the innovative protection tops. “Incorporating the Kevlar fiber into the worlds only integrated neck protection for hockey increases overall comfort and protection needed in today's fast-paced sport of hockey.”

The Protective Base Layer combines Bauer's leading performance base layer with an adjustable, built-in neck guard that provides a customized fit to maximize protection.
