Bauer Hockey is voluntarily recalling 127,000 children’s hockey sticks, shafts, and blades in the U.S. and Canada.  The recall will affect approximately 67,000 products in the U.S. and 60,000 in Canada. The recall is being issued after recommendation from the United States Product Safety Commission and Health Canada due to high levels of lead in paint and decals featured on the products.

Manufactured in China, the affected products were sold in sporting goods stores nationwide from February 2005 through March 2010 for about $80 to $200 for sticks, $30 for blades, and $40 to $90 for shafts.

No illnesses related to the hockey stick recall have been reported to Bauer, the USPSC, or Health Canada.

Bauer is urging consumers to take the recalled sticks, shafts and blades away from children immediately and contact Bauer for a replacement or refund.
