Balanced Body, a maker of equipment for the pilates community, has moved its entire operation into a new, “green” building in Sacramento. The more than 100,000 sq. foot building on 88th Street houses Balanced Body’s office space and manufacturing facility. The building features 1,000 solar panels, as well as skylights, climate controlled fans, dust collection systems and a foam roof. Most importantly, the move provides Balanced Body room to grow.

“We have chosen to stay in Sacramento to take care of our workforce and continue our investment in American manufacturing. Our people are our priority and we don’t want to lose anyone by moving too far away”

“We’re thrilled about our new space. Balanced Body was founded nearly 40 years ago, and our goal was to purchase and outfit a building that would last us at least another 40 years,” said Ken Endelman, Balanced Body founder and CEO. “We built a space for the next generation of Balanced Body: one that is sustainable for the planet, healthy for our workforce, and efficient in using less energy while producing more.”

Committed to growing its presences within the region, Balanced Body has increased its local workforce by over 20 percent since the beginning of the year to a total of 142 employees. “We have chosen to stay in Sacramento to take care of our workforce and continue our investment in American manufacturing. Our people are our priority and we don’t want to lose anyone by moving too far away,” explained Endelman. “Besides, I want to continue to ride my bike to work!”

Balanced Body is a resource for pilates and mindful movement equipment, information and education for fitness centers, studios, rehabilitation facilities and home enthusiasts. Founded in 1976, the company was the first to substantially update Joseph Pilates’ equipment with state-of-the-art engineering, materials and technology. Ken Endelman, the company’s CEO and founder, has been awarded 28 U.S. patents for his inventions.
