Backpacker’s Pantry and Astronaut Foods promoted Kris Luikart to vice president of operations. The company cited Luikart’s management experience and work with the company as a quality assurance manager to prepare her for the role.

As VPO, Luikart will oversee production, supply and demand planning, quality assurance, warehousing and logistics.

Outgoing VPO Jean Wallace worked in the role for nearly three years and is retiring.

Before working at Backpacker’s Pantry, Luikart was the quality assurance manager at Lily’s Sweets. She has extensive knowledge of food processing, food product development, food chemistry, food quality, and safety.
