Backpacker’s Pantry, owned by American Outdoor Products, hired Derek Hancock as director of sales.
Hancock brings over 20 years of outdoor industry experience to the role, having worked as a sales rep managing specialty accounts for The North Face.
He later worked as a key account manager for the North Face, handling sales with Cabela’s and Sierra Trading Post.
He moved to Amer Sports and worked as a commercial manager, U.S., for Arc’Teryx, before leaving to work for Green River Sales as a rep for Mountain Hardwear as Midwest territory sales manager.
Most recently, Hancock was the North American sales manager at Matador, where he also managed key accounts with MEC and REI.
