After launching in the U.S. earlier this year, TrekSta is expanding its reach in 2006 by introducing several innovative technologies and unusual designs. The 2006 TrekSta Spring line, which is launching at OR and WSA, features a wide mix of footwear for trail running, trekking, hiking, backpacking as well as innovative sandals.

  • IST-Independent Suspension Technology allows each outsole lug to adjust to the terrain independently
  • Prometheus-ultra lightweight multi-purpose trail shoe
  • Impulse-Trail runner with an aggressive outsole
  • One-Touch-a true one-handed lacing system
  • Cool-Ultra-lightweight trekking boots with toe-to-heel airflow
  • AntFarm-A technical dry sandal with unique airflow design

The star of the spring TrekSta line is the revolutionary patent-pending Independent Suspension Technology (IST) which will be available on a variety of shoe and boot styles. After years of R&D the company is launching IST at the show. A series of floating lugs adjust in three dimensions to meet the terrain and cushion the foot. There are no metal springs to rust and no air pockets to pop. The outsole/midsole combination delivers a superior feel and performance package. The TrekSta booth will showcase the new technology through videos, displays and marketing.

The company is also introducing Prometheus, an ultra-lightweight outdoor shoe designed for multi-purpose sports use. From trail running to approach to light hiking to mountain biking, Prometheus is designed with outstanding comfort, heel-to-toe stability and increased sole traction as the primary considerations. The unique new outsole design coupled with a choice of two uppers (lace and
strap) introduces a new direction and category for TrekSta. Prometheus will be available in both men’s and women’s styles.

TrekSta is also announcing Impulse, a trail running specific shoe featuring another proprietary and unique outsole. This shoe is being unveiled at the show and is available in lace and strap versions for both men and women. With the TrekSta One-Touch system a simple tug with a single hand is all it takes to securely snug the shoe onto the foot. Releasing the fit is just as easy! The One-Touch system is available on a trail runner in both men’s and women’s colorways. TrekSta has solved the problem of sweaty feet during a long summer hike. The new Cool airflow technology produces a constant refreshing flow of air across the footbed driving hot, moist air away from the foot which in turn reduces bacteria buildup. No more smelly feet at the end of a long day of hiking!

TrekSta is venturing into even more new territory with its new AntFarm sandals, also being launched at OR, these sandals incorporate a unique airflow design in the midsole to provide a continuous flow of air to the foot bed which reduces heat buildup.
