Asics America signed track and field athlete Bryan Clay. Clay is a two-time Olympic medalist in the decathlon and a two-time IAAF World Indoor Champion in the heptathlon.

“It's important for me to feel like I'm part of a family and not just a number,” says Bryan Clay. “Asics embodies exactly that same principle! They go above and beyond to make you feel wanted, appreciated, and valued.”

Clay is the reigning Gold medalist decathlete from the 2008 Beijing Games and Silver medalist at the 2004 Athens Games.  He has also had success at the World Indoor Championships in the heptathlon with Gold medals in 2010 and 2008 and Silver medals in 2006 and 2004.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Clay was raised in Hawaii where his mother gave him a choice to swim or run track and field. He chose track and field because he didn't want to wear a swimsuit!  Clay graduated from Azusa Pacific University in Glendora, Calif. where currently trains and resides with his wife and three children.

“We are honored to add Bryan to our exceptional roster of Asics athletes,” says Asics Vice President of Marketing Erik Forsell.  “His experience and exceptional drive proves that dedication can equal success.”

Clay will compete at the 2012 Drake Relays presented by Asics on April 25 in Des Moines, Iowa as he continues his preparation for the 2012 Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Ore. He aspires to be the first decathlete to ever win three Olympic medals.
