Asics opened a flagship location in New York City on 42nd Street between Broadway and Sixth Avenue. The store features a floor-to-ceiling glass exterior on the front of the building and an old New York City Subway car from 1961 inside.
The subway car is being used as a fixture to display footwear and apparel. The opening, just before the New York City Marathon that Asics sponsors, was first reported by wwd.com.
The location replaces the recently closed, smaller Asics store on 42nd Street between Fifth and Sixth Ave.
