The 14th edition of Asia Outdoor in Nanjing, China, concluded on Sunday, June 30, after four successful exhibition days. For the first time, the trade fair was accompanied by a consumer-focused ‘carnival’ event. A total of 312 brands presented their latest products and services across a combined indoor and outdoor area of 48,000 sqm (approx. 517,000 sq ft) on the grounds of Nanjing’s International Exhibition Center. A total of 16,731 visitors came from all over China, as well as Turkey, Ukraine, Korea, and Hong Kong.

Sales meetings, product presentations, matchmaking, and networking were just as much a focus of the event as the search for new knowledge, trends, and innovations. There were large crowds of visitors at the stands of newcomer companies and startups, particularly on the well-attended first two exhibition days. This served as a clear indicator of where the latest innovations are coming from. Another clear market insight was that, increasingly, growth is being driven by quality rather than volume.

Asia Outdoor’s accompanying program of events was highlighted by an Industry Award presentation, a special exhibition titled ‘Functional Textiles Supply Chain Integration Activities,’ the Outdoor Summit Forum, and a conference on sports tourism. Also adding plenty of value to the accompanying program were matchmaking events and various specialized lectures addressing current market and marketing issues.

Moreover, Asia Outdoor 2019 boasted the premiere edition of Carnival, a consumer-focused experience that was a real hit with visitors. The parallel festival featured a unique mix of interactive modules, film screenings, party zones, product testing areas, and presentations by major brands. The clever, new combination allowed Asia Outdoor to meet the industry’s B2B requirements while fulfilling a desire to appeal to consumers directly.

The 15th edition of Asia Outdoor will take place from July 18 to 20, 2020.
