Ashworth, Inc. announced a series of personnel moves late last week as well as the elimination of several staff positions as the company looks to reduce costs and streamline operations. In total, 16 staff positions were cut, while a new president was named, though tapping a leader already familiar with the company.

Edward J. Fadel returned to Ashworth as president with the responsibility of overseeing all of Ashworth's sales, customer service and sourcing, but sharing responsibility for design with founder, John Ashworth. Fadel worked at Ashworth between 2001 and 2004, most recently serving as senior vice president of merchandising and design.

With Fadel stepping into the president role, former president Gary I. (Sims) Schneiderman left the company “to pursue other interests.” Finally, Peter E. Holmberg, executive vice president – green grass sales and merchandising, has resigned in order to return to his home in Seattle.
