Midwest Sporting Goods in Fort Smith, AK is closing after 77 years in business.

The move comes shortly after the death of longtime store co-owner David Whitson, according to the Times Record.  The store at 1310 Zero St. is holding selling inventory for 40 to 75 percent off in preparation for the eventual closure. No closure date has been set.
