Arc’teryx Veilance, the Canadian outdoor apparel company’s urban brand, will bring its first concept store to 81 Greene Street in New York City from October 28, 2016 to January 8, 2017.
Arc’teryx’s New York Veilance location follows the opening of The North Face’s San Francisco pop-up shop, continuing the trend of outdoor apparel companies trying their hand at insulating and waterproofing commuters as well as peak baggers.
The design firm Snarkitecture crafted the store’s shopping experience, which is intended to be “conceptual, structural and innovative,” according to a company press release.
Veilance is aimed at protecting city dwellers from harsh winter conditions. “Bridging from indoor to outdoor exposure, Arc’teryx Veilance responds to changing conditions and settings,” stated the release. The 2,000-square-foot space is organized in three sections to reflect the brand’s protective systems against wind, rain and cold.
