Amazon.com has added bike messengers to the list of last-mile delivery modes it is testing, reports the Wall Street Journal.

In a Dec. 8 article, the newspaper reported Amazon.com is working with three bike courier services in New York City to see if their bike messengers can make deliveries within one hour. The experiment comes as Amazon continues to lobby U.S. regulators for permission to use drones for the same purpose. Amazon is already testing drone deliveries in the United Kingdom, the newspaper reports. Amazon.com has also experimented with delivering to storage lockers in the United States.

Both modes would be employed in a new service to be called “Amazon Prime Now,” reports the Journal.
