Adidas will replace Under Armour as the uniform supplier for Texas Tech for the 2024 season. Under Armour’s partnership with the University began in 2006.
News of Adidas replacing UA came after last year’s NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, who played for Texas Tech and is Adidas’ top NFL athlete, wore a T-shirt with Texas Tech’s logo that had the word Adidas taped over the Under Armour logo. Adidas later confirmed that its deal with Texas Tech as the uniform supplier would begin in 2024.
For Under Armour, the end of its deal with Texas Tech follows the end of its sponsorships with several other schools, including UCLA, University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Cincinnati, amid cost-cutting moves.
In August, Under Armour extended its partnership with the University of Notre Dame.
