In 2021, Adidas SPZL and C.P. Company marked the company’s 50th Anniversary with the collaborative Italia CP SPZL trainer. To honor the label’s 10th Anniversary, the Adidas SPZL and C.P. Company collaborated once again, this time on an apparel, footwear, and accessories collection.

The footwear offering includes the following Adidas SPZL silhouettes:

  1. CP Wimberly SPZL is inspired by a rare perforated Canadian version of the Adidas Universal from the ’80s and comes in two material makeups. The first is in shades of White and Cream, a similar palette to the vintage Universal’s colorway, updated with premium materials. The leather upper features webbing 3-Stripes with zig-zag deco stitching, serrated eye stays and a perforated toe box. The second version features a suede base for the upper.
  2. Inspired by the Adidas Nepal, a hi-top outdoor boot, the CP Helvellyn SPZL is a winter-ready silhouette in a Sand and Grey colorway made of suede overlays, mesh underlays, gun-metal D-rings, with a gusseted tongue, and outdoor leather lining.
  3. The CP SL 83 SPZL is an extension of the Adidas SL 82’s design, with an added T-toe and a mix of different materials to create slightly different shades of olive green on the upper.
  4. Two SPZL icons make their return. The CP Manchester SPZL is reintroduced and reinterpreted with updated materials, added eyelets and zig-zag stitching on the stripes. The CP Italia SPZL is brought back in premium leather with a suede T-toe and a Royal Blue/White colorway as a nod to the previous collaboration.

In a revision of classic looks that bridges the Adidas label and Gary Aspden’s ongoing homage to the Three Stripes archive, iconic apparel pieces from both brands were reworked and reimagined, integrating the design language of SPZL into the graphic iconography of C.P. Company. Namely the C.P. Company sailor and the graphic placements on the 1980s Mille Miglia jackets.

The apparel lineup includes:

  1. Sweatshirt featuring the C.P. Company sailors donned head to toe in an Adidas SPZL outfit;
  2. Short and Long sleeve pocket tee giving a nod to the graphics of C.P. Company’s early Mille Miglia jackets;
  3. Collaborative logo tee;
  4. Half zip knit updated with the first Mod Trefoil apparel piece from the first season of SPZL in 2014;
  5. Matching track top and pants in a fine needle cord; and
  6. Updated Settend 2 Tracksuit released by Adidas SPZL in 2015.

Highlighting the apparel selection are two outerwear jackets include the CP SPZL Puffer Jacket and CP SPZL Flying Jacket featuring detachable branding options, made from flat nylon, an opaque nylon with a light resin finish on the reverse. Each jacket features front pockets, embroidered logo patches on the chest, and the iconic C.P. Company lens on the left wrist, custom-designed for this collaboration. The Flying Jacket draws inspiration from classic aviation styles, highlighted by a fleece-lined collar that adds comfort and a nod to vintage flight jackets.

Finally, the collection includes an accessories offering, including side bag, two caps and a pair of gloves.

The collection’s campaign is being marketed with an ensemble cast featuring Ashley Walters, Stephen Graham, Goldie, Robert Brooks, and Toby Mclellan, drifting between documentary and theatrical performance. To view the film, go here, or click on the image above. 

The latest Adidas SPZL x C.P. Company collection will be available in limited quantities on November 12 through Confirmed and select retailers.
