Acushnet Company, parent company of Titleist and FootJoy, has been named a Platinum-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association.

Platinum-Level Fit-Friendly worksites offer employees physical activity and healthy eating options and promote a wellness culture in the workplace, implementing at least nine criteria by the AHA in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture.

Acushnet Co., through its Acushnet HealthWise associate initiative, has adopted the motto “Wellness for Life.”

“It is an honor to be recognized by the American Heart Association as a Fit-Friendly workplace,” said David True, manager of health promotion, Acushnet Co. “This is a testament not only to our company’s commitment to health and wellness, but also all of our associates who have made these values a daily priority in their lives.”

More than 400 company associates, their family members and friends, gathered in the parking lot of the company’s New Bedford Ball Plant III on May 5 to participate in the company’s 2013 Family Fun Run/Walk. The event raised $1,800 for the AHA.

Following the event, an AHA representative presented the company with its 2013 Platinum-Level Fit-Friendly plaque.
