AboutGolf, the manufacturer of indoor golf simulator technology, has opened a 10,000-square-foot Tech Center in Ottawa Lake, Mich. The Center, which officially opened at the end of May, is designed as a dedicated research-and-development facility and features an outdoor driving range, testing labs and development labs.
“The Tech Center will be the birthplace of innovations that will revolutionize and advance the industry,” Bales says. “Our people are truly gifted and this facility will only enhance that fact.”
In addition, aboutGolf is expanding its current Maumee, Ohio headquarters with an additional 10,000 square feet of space. The additional space will house a state-of-the-art showroom, offices, expanded production and distribution for 3Trak launch monitors and a clubmaking facility for Henry-Griffitts.
“The opening of the Tech Center and the Maumee expansion mark an important moment for aboutGolf – symbolic of our position as the No. 1 simulator company worldwide and of the innovations yet to come,” says Bales. “The Tech Center demonstrates our commitment to research and development. With state-of-the-art facilities, aG Labs will be best able to produce state-of-the-art products.”
The Tech Center's design was inspired by the famous clubhouse at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. The Tech Center, like Stanford White's clubhouse design at Shinnecock Hills, projects a sense of comfort. The new aboutGolf Labs facility sits on 10 acres of land. “We are thrilled to be providing our people with facilities that will help them perform most efficiently and effectively,” Bales says. “The Tech Center is stunning, but it is also exceptionally functional.”
The Tech Center will house more than 15 developers on a full-time basis, and better enable aboutGolf Labs to create the most advanced technology and products in the golf performance technology and golf simulation industries.
