Columbia Sportswear Company has named Greg Goddard to the newly created position of International Market Development Manager. Goddard will be based in Columbia Sportswear’s European headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. Goddard will report directly to Bill Tung, Vice President of International Sales and Operations, and will work closely with Columbia’s existing international management team.
Goddard steps into this position with more than 10 years of international sales and operations experience. Prior to joining Columbia, he held senior management and operations positions with the Asian Pacific office of The Timberland Company, most recently serving as Senior Manager for Strategy and Business Development. In that capacity Goddard managed all aspects of distributor relationships for Timberland, specifically developing business practices and researching new distributor and direct markets.
As Columbia’s new International Market Development Manager, Goddard’s primary responsibility will be to oversee Columbia’s existing network of independent international distributors with a focus on the Company’s seven European distributors located in Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, Norway, Turkey and Greece. He will work to further optimize existing relationships in terms of sales, business and retail development and will assess distributor performance along with establishing new distribution channels when required.
