Brooklyn-based sports technology start-up Storelli unveiled two new global ambassadors, Manchester United and England winger Jesse Lingard and EPL-winning Chelsea and Spain defender César Azpilicueta.
The players join goalkeeping legend Iker Casillas in roles as global ambassadors for the brand dedicated to creating injury-preventing, performance-boosting products for athletes of all ages, genders and positions.
Lingard said “I was instantly swayed by the level of technicality and comfort in the material of the Storelli products. They offer almost weightless protection. Storelli believes in outsmarting your opponent, not out-muscling them. I’m 128 lbs. I’m all for that.”
Azpilicueta added, “The speed and physicality of the game is intensifying, but protection should not compromise performance, that’s what attracted me to Storelli. Their protective technologies solve real and avoidable issues we face every day as athletes.”
The announcement precedes the release of Storelli’s Anti-Abrasion BodyShield range in July and the forthcoming launch of the brand’s SpeedGrip collection.
Storelli was founded by athletes with a goal of developing products that offer full-body protection and enhance performance. Storelli’s apparel line incorporates proprietary, patent-pending technologies and sleek, intelligent design to better absorb impact; minimize and prevent abrasions, cuts and bruises; and take the pain out of the game to enhance performance and enjoyment.
Earlier this year Storelli also released its first women’s collection, featuring NWSL Rookie of the Year Rocky Rodriguez and Kristie Mewis.
Claudio Storelli, founder and CEO of Storelli, said, “We struck gold partnering with Jesse Lingard and César Azpilicueta, two players who reflect the attributes we look for in a modern athlete; they are both strategic, smart and technically superior. They have the same David vs. Goliath spirit we have as a challenger company, and recognize that peak performance starts well before the play.
“Jesse manages to out-muscle the opposition with his creativity and stands out in a crowded Manchester United offense, while Azpilicueta is tactically one of the most efficient defenders out there. He is methodical, strategic and level-headed – a brilliant reader of the game.”
