Klean Kanteen CEO Jim Osgood joined 1% for the Planet, a global environmental organization, as the nonprofit’s newest board member. Klean Kanteen joined 1% for the Planet in 2008, and Osgood’s addition is integral to an 18-month overhaul of leadership that includes a new board chairman and five new board members.

“At Klean, we’re committed to environmental and social responsibility in everything we do. 1% for the Planet unites businesses around the world to support a common goal of giving back through every day actions,” said Osgood. “It’s important for us to show that being responsible and purpose-driven in our actions is just the right thing to do. I’m thrilled to dive into business strategy and global operations with the 1% team.”

Serving as CEO and president of the family-owned company since June 2011, Osgood previously managed Slickrock Concepts, a product strategy and development firm in Colorado. He has also served in executive positions with a range of global companies, including The Coleman Company and Baxa Corporation, garnering 25 years of experience in strategy, operations and product development.

In addition to Osgood, recent new additions to the 1% for the Planet board include Brant Barton, new board chairman; Hilary Dessouky, general counsel of Patagonia; Marc Randolph, co-founder of Netflix; Kristine Stratton, senior vice president of operations at Earthjustice; and T.J. Whalen, the new board rreasurer and managing director for FreshTracks Capital.
