Michael Spillane, Malden Mills Industries Chief Executive Officer announced that Andrew Vecchione has been named as the Chief Operating Officer for the company. Vecchione, the former COO for Remcon Plastics, begins work at Malden Mills immediately.
“This appointment solidifies and strengthens Malden Mills senior management team at a critical point in our companys history,” said Spillane. “I am delighted that Andy Vecchione has agreed to bring his superior operations and management experience to the company. As we continue our positive momentum, Andy will provide the leadership and business experience necessary to position Malden Mills for long-term success.”

In his new role Vecchione will have global responsibility for Polartec® manufacturing, research and development, product quality and sourcing. Vecchione will be working closely with executive management on the companys strategic initiatives including increasing the pace of innovation, accelerating product development timelines, increasing manufacturing efficiency and improving on-time delivery.
Vecchione brings 30 years of experience in manufacturing, textiles, and apparel to Malden Mills. His professional experience includes an expertise in business turnarounds, supply chain management and strategic planning. Prior to serving as COO of Remcon Plastics, Vecchione has held senior leadership positions at Ferag Americas as President and CEO; Paxar Corporation as Vice President/General Manager; Eagles Eye as COO, and spent 19 years at Milliken and Company leading several successful business units.
Vecchione, 55, holds a MS degree from the Institute of Textile Technology and a BS in Management and Marketing from the Philadelphia University.
