Target is planing to open a 43,000-square-foot store on 34th Street, directly across from Macy’s famous flagship store.

According to the New York Post, the store will open in October. In the past few months, Target has announced plans to open smaller locations in Midwood, Hell’s Kitchen, and the East Village. The discounter has been opening up smaller locations to explore growth in urban markets. Its first smaller location in New York City was opened last year in Tribeca. It has larger locations in Harlem and Atlantic Yards in Brooklyn.
