Sports nutrition company Science in Sport hired a general manager in line with its expansion strategy in the United States.
Sales and product management veteran Tonya Wearner is tasked with leading Science in Sport’s U.S. expansion in 2017, and will play a role in developing the U.K. brand’s growth in one of its key international markets.
Based in San Diego, CA, Wearner will be responsible for building revenue from Science in Sport’s direct e-commerce platform, and through third-party online retailers. She will also develop and implement multimedia marketing and athlete acquisition strategies while establishing domestic third-party logistic services.
Wearner has more than 16 years of sales and marketing experience working with established consumer brands and has a track record of delivering revenue growth and profitability. Prior to joining SIS, she ran her own business consultancy, advising companies on brand licensing, retail market expansion and product management.
