Sport Chalet has appointed Donald Howard to serve on the Company's Board of Directors and will also serve on the Compensation Committee. Mr. Howard is currently Partner and Senior Vice President of Development with Marketplace Properties, a full-service shopping center development company that has completed projects throughout Southern California, Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. He had previously served as Senior Vice President of Development with Donahue Schriber, a privately- held real estate investment trust that develops, owns, and manages retail real estate. Prior to his service with Donahue Schriber, he served as Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Construction for The Vons Companies, Inc., a leading grocery store chain.
Commenting on the appointment, Craig Levra, Chairman and CEO, said, “Don will bring over 30 years of experience and a depth of knowledge about real estate and new store construction to our Company, and we are looking forward to working with him.”
In addition, the Company announced that Frederick Schneider was appointed as Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Schneider has served on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee since May 2000. Al McCready was named Chairman of the newly-formed Governance and Nominating Committee and has served on the Board and Audit Committee since May 2001. John Attwood continues to serve as Chairman of the Compensation Committee and has served on the Board and various committees since 1993.
