VF Corp., the  parent of Majestic Athletic, stated that it is in ongoing, productive talks with Major League Baseball (MLB) with a collective goal to ensure that VF’s Easton, PA facility continues to produce on-field uniforms for MLB “for a very long time.”

VF’s Easton facility, which employs about 600 workers, currently produces all on-field uniforms for MLB under the Majestic brand.

On Monday, Under Armour, Fanatics and MLB announced a 10-year partnership that names Under Armour as the official uniform provider to MLB. Fanatics will be granted broad consumer product licensing rights to manage the manufacturing and distribution of Under Armour and Fanatics fan gear. The partnership commences in the 2020 MLB season.

VF announced in March 2016 that it was exploring strategic alternatives for its Licensed Sports Group (LSG), a business unit that includes the Majestic brand, the official on-field uniform provider for MLB. Also included in the company’s LSG business is apparel and fanwear through licensing agreements with U.S. and international professional sports leagues and lifestyle brands.
