Giancarlo Zanatta, President of the Tecnica Group, has resigned his position as a member of the board of directors of Lotto Sport Italia in an effort to focus on re-launching the Nordica and Rollerblade brands world-wide.
In 1990 Tecnica sold its Nordica ski brand to the ambitious Benetton SportSystem project. Tecnica re-acquired the brand when BSS was disassembled in February of 2003. In March of 2003, Tecnica acquired the Rollerblade brand, also from BSS, after The Hockey Company backed out of the deal, estimated to be worth $22 million.
Replacing Zanatta on the Lotto board of directors is Giacomo Vaccari, whose family now owns 50% of Lotto shares. There has been no change to the remaining 50%, controlled by Andrea Tomat and co-owned by Gianni Lorenzato and Adriano Sartor.
