Great Trango Holdings, the parent company of Stonewear Designs, is pleased to announce that Kitty Bradley will be joining the Stonewear Designs team as the Brand Manager.

Kitty joins the team to continue her career in the outdoor and apparel industries. She got her start in the Outdoor Industry as the General Manager of the Boulder Mountaineer from 1978 through 1987 where she picked up a fundamental understanding of the of the soul of the business. She then went on to serve as the VP of Sales and Marketing for Lowe Alpine (1987 – 1992) then on to a short stint as the Director of Motor Clothes for Harley Davidson (!). From 1992 through 1998 Kitty worked for Nike as a Divisional Merchandising Manager and then as the Director of the Nike Alpha Project. In 1998 Kitty moved back to Boulder, Colorado, her adopted hometown, and held positions as the VP of the Apparel Division of Salomon, VP of Sales and Marketing for Event Promotion Supply and most recently, the Outdoor Manager for Catalyst Communication.

Kitty's wealth of experience has given her an unrivaled understanding of strategic business planning, branding and marketing strategies, sales strategies and management, product development and merchandising, and new product introductions. According to Malcolm Daly, President of GTHI, “Kitty is a huge addition to our team here. We have a strong brand in a growing sector of the industry and I can't imagine anyone better than Kitty to lead our efforts to capitalize on that and make us one of the best. Having worked with her at Lowe Alpine I know that she has that unusual combination of a can-do attitude and no-bull approach to getting the job done, combined with the extraordinary warmth and compassion that is critical to building a successful team. This is going to be great.”

In addition to Kitty's impressive business career, she was awarded the first-ever Pioneering Woman Award by the Outdoor Industry Women's Council. This award is given annually to the woman most recognized as having demonstrated a positive impact on women's careers. According to Norma Hansen, Vice President of Member Services for the Outdoor Industry Association, “Kitty will be a fantastic addition to the Stonewear team. Her “woodchuck” status (An informal award given to people who have been in the Outdoor Industry for 25 years or more.) was earned though past positions with the Lowe, Nike ACG, Salomon and Harley Davidson brands; she'll bring all of that experience to Stonewear. Kitty's all-around active lifestyle-everything from climbing to dog agility training …gives her first hand knowledge of the clothing female athletes need and want. Stonewear Designs is already a great clothing line that can only get better with Kitty's involvement.”

Kitty will start work on June 15, 2004.
