Last August Cervélo filed suit against Guru Cycles because of an e-mail correspondence between an unnamed customer and a member of the Guru sales team. Apparently, the Guru employee misrepresented some facts about Cervélo with regards to quality and weight of the companys bicycles.
The case was closed last week, and as part the settlement Gurus president Tony Giannascoli has offered a written apology for “untrue statements” made by his sales staff. He further assures he has taken “measures to prevent further untrue statements regarding Cervélos products and in particular about their weight or quality.”
Cervélo and Guru have agreed that the financial terms and other conditions of the settlement will remain confidential and that neither company will any make further comments on the case.
