Using the Rio Olympics as a springboard, safe water technology company LifeStraw has established The Brazil Project to address the more than 34 million Brazilians and 75 percent of rural schools that don’t have access to safe water.
Through the LifeStraw Safe Water Fund, The Brazil Project run will raise money to provide high-volume water purifiers and safe water education to schools in northeast Brazil. Individuals and teams can donate, start and promote fundraisers through the end of August.
“The Brazil Project addresses a serious problem affecting millions of lives in villages surrounding the competitions in Brazil this month,” said Alison Hill, managing director of LifeStraw.
