Perry Ellis International Inc. and Sockyard Corp. have entered into a licensing agreement for the manufacture of PING Collection hosiery.
The socks, to be introduced as part of the 2004 PING(R) Collection, will be produced with Lycra for better fit and durability. The socks will also be treated with the anti-microbial AEGIS(R) to help eliminate odor and bacteria, making the garment a healthier item for golfers to wear.
“We are excited to offer this anti-bacterial technology in our golf socks,” said George Pita, senior vice president for Perry Ellis International. “It is another example of our commitment to furnish golfers with the best performance apparel available. These socks will be especially popular with people who like to walk because we use materials that offer greater cushioning than a standard sock.”
Sockyard will distribute the socks to the green grass, better specialty and better department store channels.
