Oboz has hired Chris Rischke in the newly created position of business analyst with responsibility for all aspects of inventory management at the Bozeman, MT-based footwear company.
Rischke's duties span purchasing and warehouse management, creating analysis-based forecasting models, maintaining inventory and buying plans, as well as managing Oboz’ available-to-sell systems.
Rischke, who joined Oboz in October, will coordinate with Oboz's sales, operations and customer service teams.
“Chris is an important addition to the Oboz team,” said Trim Tripp, Oboz vice president of finance and CFO. “As Oboz has grown, expertise in analysis, business planning and operational support systems that keep Oboz lean and serve retailers is key. Chris has brought all that and more to our table.”
Rischke is a native of Germany, and relocated to the United States in 2002 when recruited to run cross country at Mars Hill College in North Carolina. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, with a focus on accounting and entrepreneurship.
His career path led him first to public accounting, and next, he became a senior financial analyst and internal auditor at Bemis, a packaging manufacturer located in the Midwest.
Rischke was frequently drawn to Bozeman to visit friends and made the move west to Montana in 2013. Since, he has served as a senior plant accountant for Darigold and director of fFinance for the non-profit Central Asia Institute.
Rischke had already been on the Oboz team prior to the new job-playing on its recreational soccer squad for three years. He also enjoys pick up hockey, hiking, skiing and much more in the surrounding mountains, sometimes adventuring with his dog Zoey.
