Phiten announced a new endorsement deal with Japanese professional golfer and PGA Tour rookie, Hideki Matsuyama, along with 26 additional athletes from varying niche sports.

“We are pleased to add so many talented athletes to the Phiten team,” said Joe Furuhata, vice president of Phiten USA. “Not only do we support athletes of all sports, but the everyday athlete who is committed to any sport and who uses our products.”

Matsuyama joins with 26 other athletes as official Phiten ambassadors from varying sports genres. Phiten USA adds Tanya White, beach volleyball player; Heather Faustin, surfer; Sayaka Kaneshiro, motocross rider; Steve Mackel, marathon coach; Leilani Akiyama, U.S. Judo team member; and the U.S. Men’s National Kendo team, totaling 21 members, all as Phiten athletes.

Matsuyama’s golfing career took off when he won the 2010 Asian Amateur Championship at age 18. This win gave him the chance to compete in the 2011 Masters Tournament, the first Japanese amateur to do so. Matsuyama is also an ambassador with Phiten Japan and is often seen wearing a Phiten titanium bracelet while on the course.

Tanya White started her athletic career as a jumper at University of Southern California. In 2006, she pursued beach volleyball and finished fifth in the National Volleyball League. Today, you can find online her educational how-to videos on volleyball techniques. She also appeared on the 2012 season of Royal Pains as an Olympic gold medalist. She currently plays on the AVP US Pro Tour.

Heather Faustin can be found riding the waves surrounding the islands of Hawaii. Faustin grew up in Makakilo, Oahu and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Chaminade University.

Sayaka Kaneshiro moved to the U.S. from Japan in 2006 to pursue her lifelong passion for motocross. In addition to winning third place at High Point Raceway in 2012, she is the second woman in history to sign with Honda Muscle Milk Factory Team.

California resident Steve Mackel, is currently a ChiRunning/ChiWalking® Master Instructor, RRCA Marathon Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Massage Therapist, FIST Bike Fitter, Certified Hypnotherapist, and Yoga teacher. Steve has been certified with USA Triathlon, USA Cycling Coach and Newton Natural Running. With his expertise he started a multi-sport coaching business, Tri This Coaching, training athletes.

Leilani Akiya mastered playing judo with her brother at age seven. Throughout her athletic career she has won 20 junior national titles and 10 junior international titles.

The U.S. Men's National Kendo Team, currently comprised of 21 members, joins Phiten as brand ambassadors.  Christopher Yang has been captain of the modern Japanese martial arts team since 2006 and has been a national team member for 18 years.

Matsuyama and the others join an array of elite Phiten brand ambassadors that include stars from the MLB, NBA, NFL and more.
