Mavic, Inc hired Chad Moore as marketing director, North America. It also opened a Canadian sales office.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Chad’s accomplished background lead our Marketing Team” says Phillip Sporidis, managing director of Mavic Inc. He takes the helm of an evolving department that now includes new West Coast Sports Marketing Tech Rep Charles Gray, and a new showroom and service course location being built in Newbury Park, California. Farther north, Canadian Business Director Randy Pye is busy tending a new, fully operational Canadian subsidiary, selling Mavic products directly to an expanding network of authorized dealer partners.
Between these revamped efforts in the American marketing department and new opportunities in Canada, the company is bullish about the coming season.
“At every level, we are positioning our business in North America for successful, sustainable growth,” noted Sporidis. “Our marketing department is fully aligned with our goals, we have professional, engaged and highly motivated additions to our team, and Chad will have more resources than ever to communicate our brand story. So it’s an exciting time,” concluded Sporidis.
In Canada, the changes have been brewing since late fall of 2013. The brand is functioning under a hybrid business structure that features support and expertise from both Mavic USA as well as Amer Sports Canada Inc.
“Now for the first time, the full spectrum of Mavic products is available to our retail partners, including all our Bike Systems (wheels, rims, tires, and pedals) and Rider’s Equipment (apparel, footwear, helmets, packs and accessories),” said Pye. “The entire 2014 range is available and products are shipping to over 350 Mavic Authorized Retailers and Service Centers across our country.”
A team of five dedicated Mavic sales representatives services these accounts, while warehousing, operations, and distribution is managed by Amer Sports Canada in Belleville, Ontario. Technical support and warranty service is handled exclusively by a Mavic-certified technician also located at the Belleville facility. There is a dedicated Mavic Canada website (mavic.ca) with product details in both French and English, plus an up-to-date dealer locator.
To the west, the Mavic, Inc. marketing department is excited about opening a new facility to support marketing and sales in southern California.
“We are calling it ‘La Maison Jaune,’” said Moore. “The front half will be fully merchandised with our entire product range to tell our key brand stories and communicate our identity.” Moore continued, “In the back, our new service course and shop will house the yellow cars, our demo fleet, and neutral support infrastructure.”
“We envision the ‘Yellow House’ as a place where our sales reps can host dealers, our communications team can host media events, and our tech team can do clinics and have the complete Mavic experience” added Sporidis. “It’s a multi-purpose facility that significantly boosts our resources in southern California.” Sporidis continued, “This region is a critical focus for our 2014 business and beyond. We’re adding reps in the area, and now this is a substantial stake in the ground. Combined with our internal efforts and the new business in Canada, we feel very positive about the future,” concluded Sporidis.
