City Bike company Brooklyn Cruiser today announced it will partner with Pratt Institute, one of the pre-eminent design institutions in the world. The new initiative will offer incoming students affordable and sustainable transportation options through the availability of Brooklyn Cruiser bikes. Additionally, the brand will be tapping into the talented student base at Pratt to design branded cycling accessories on behalf of Brooklyn Cruiser that will be put into production.

“Partnering with a local Brooklyn brand is a great community building exercise. We're pleased to offer our students bikes as a smart transportation alternative, and to create opportunities for them with real world design scenarios,” said Ludovic Leroy, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Pratt. “We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership,” he added.

“Pratt is synonymous with thoughtful design and we’re excited to offer these young, influential students Brooklyn Cruisers to ride about town,” said Brooklyn Cruiser President Ryan Zagata.

“We are also especially excited to see what designs the incredibly talented students at Pratt present to us for our 2014 accessories,” added Zagata.

Established in 2011 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Brooklyn Cruiser offers commuter bikes in single speed, three speed and seven speed models starting at $399.
