Cushe Footwear has signed as the official casual footwear sponsor for the mens professional cycling team. The sponsorship with the 5-hour Energy Team is the first partnership for Cushe with a professional sports team in the U.S.
Cushe was founded in the United Kingdom in 2004 and acquired by Wolverine World Wide in 2009. The company creates boots, sandals, and shoes specifically designed for pre-race and post-race lifestyle footwear. The 5-hour Energy Team members will wear Cushe footwear, the Evo Slide canvas sandals and Evo-Lite Loafers, on all official off-the-bike activities, such as podium appearances for awards.
Cushe endorses several adventure and endurance athletes, including skier/B.A.S.E. jumper Matthias Giraud (Evreux, France/ Portland, Oregon, USA), surfing champion Mitch Corbett (Newquay, Cornwall, England) and freestyle skier Becky Hammond (Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England/ Verbier, Switzerland). The team sponsorship provides a marketing platform for Cushe to reach cyclists in North America, both road cyclists and triathletes.
The cycling and triathlete communities need comfortable après footwear. Not everyone feels like throwing on running shoes after a hard endurance effort. Super comfortable slipper footwear is the best alternative for recovery, said Ken Taylor, global marketing manager for Cushe. “At Cushe we strive to be the innovators of laid-back footwear and the après adventure brand of choice. Every shoe in our collection reflects the passion, commitment and enthusiasm of the Cushe team. We look forward to working with the 5-hour Energy cycling team this year.”
