Reinforcing its commitment to inspiring a lifetime of adventure, Chaco has partnered with the American Camp Association (ACA) to encourage young campers to enjoy a lifetime of outdoor activities and pursuits.
Chaco will be the exclusive footwear provider to camp counselors and professionals at ACA-accredited camps across the USA. Additionally, Chaco will make a significant annual donation to the ACAs Send a Child to Camp scholarship fund, enabling thousands of deserving young people to attend an ACA member camp, setting them on a path toward self-confidence, self-reliance, and a commitment to an outdoor lifestyle.
Oftentimes the best education is outside of the classroom, said Chip Coe, general manager of Chaco. Summer camp offers an environment full of hands-on learning opportunities that become the building blocks for a successful life. We are excited to work even more closely with the camp community, who have always been active brand ambassadors for Chaco.
As a leading authority in youth development, ACA accredits over 2400 day and residential camps that collectively serve about 5 million children annually. Research shows that camp enables significant growth in confidence and self-esteem, relationship and friendship skills, and independence and responsibility, said Peg Smith, CEO of ACA. We are thrilled to have Chaco, a well loved brand in the camp community, on board to help us drive our mission and positively influence and impact millions of young peoples lives.
Born on the river in 1989, Chaco builds premium footwear for the outdoor-minded. What started as sandals for river guides has evolved into sandals, shoes, and boots that offer Chacos uncompromised support. Chaco is a part of Wolverine Worldwides Performance Group that also includes Merrell, Saucony, Patagonia Footwear, and Cushe.
