Allen Edmonds Shoe Corp. is adding a new shoe-production line to its Port Washington headquarters that could create 200 new jobs with the help of a $1.5 million forgivable loan from the state of Wisconsin.

The new line will increase the company's production of upscale men's shoes by 50,000 pairs a year, said President and CEO Paul Grangaard.

The new production capability combined with an increased retail and wholesale presence could increase production at the Port Washington plant by 20% next year.
