Ski boot and technical outdoor footwear company Garmont North America has re-signed adventure skier Chris Davenport as brand ambassador.

A two-time World Champion big mountain skier, Davenport is widely regarded as one of the premier ski mountaineers in the world today. A former alpine downhill racer with an extensive freeskiing resume, Davenport's mountaineering resume includes high profile ascents and descents in Antarctica, the Himalayas, Denali National Park, and in his home state of Colorado, where he skied all 54 of the state's 14,000-foot peaks in less then one year.

Davenport”s skiing career includes landmark wins at the 1996 and 2001 World Extreme Skiing Championships in Alaska, as well as inclusion in over 30 feature ski films – including a documentary on skiing the Antarctic Peninsula.

For 2011, Davenport will be skiing in Garmont's Radium and Masterlite alpine touring boots in the California Sierra, the Alaska Range, and the Alps in Chamonix, France, among other mountain destinations.

“Dav”s spirit of adventure, his innovative nature, and his outgoing personality are a superior match for Garmont,” said Gord Bailey, president of Garmont. “We are excited to continue working with one of the preeminent voices in our sport.”

Garmont”s product line includes alpine, alpine touring and telemark ski boots; and outdoor footwear for mountaineering, backpacking, hiking and trail sports.

Davenport is also a TV commentator for ESPN, ABC sports, and Outside television. When not traveling the globe he resides in Aspen, Colo., with his wife and three boys.
