PEP Grant Applications Now Being Accepted

The U.S. Department of Education is now accepting Carol M. White
Physical Education Program (PEP) grant applications for the upcoming
school year, according to the Sporting Goods Manufacturer's Association. It is estimated that nearly $40
million will be available for new PEP Grants for the 2010-2011 school
year. 

The PEP Grants are estimated to range from $100,000 to $750,000
with the average grant being $427,000.  The remainder of the $79 million
appropriated for PEP Grants will be distributed to existing PEP Grant
recipients.

This entire PEP program is the main focus of SGMA's big lobby effort each spring — SGMA's National Health Through Fitness Day.
