Spyder Active Sports Inc. and Warren Miller Entertainment have signed a two-year deal for the 61st and 62nd annual Warren Miller film tours.

Boulder-based Spyder, the designer and manufacturer of ski apparel, will provide athletes from the teams its sponsors for movies to be filmed by Boulder-based Warren Miller Entertainment in various locations throughout the world.

Big mountain skiers Chris Davenport and Stan Hagen just completed shooting in the steep terrain of the Chugach Mountains in Girdwood, Alaska, part of the 2010 feature film to be released in mid-October.

Plans are also under way for a selection of Spyder athletes to shoot on location in Portillo, Chile for the 2011 Warren Miller Entertainment feature film. Davenport and Hagen will be showcased along with Olympic medalists Tommy Moe and Steven Nyman, U.S. Ski team athletes Jake Zamansky, Julia Mancuso, Daron Rahlves and freeskiers Rosalind Groenewoud, Colby West and Jess McMillan.

“Having Spyder's high profile athletes star in the 61st and 62nd annual feature films raises the bar on what is already the largest action sports film in the world,” said Johnny Alamo, executive director of sponsorships at Warren Miller Entertainment.

Many of Spyder's athletes will make appearances at select shows along the 85-city tour for autograph signings, product giveaways and to share firsthand their epic adventures like Davenport and Hagen's recent first descents of the Antarctic Peninsula.
