Nordstrom Sees 7.5% Surge in April Same Store Sales

Nordstrom, Inc. is reporting a 7.5% increase in same-store sales for the four-week period ended May 1, 2010 compared with the four-week period ended May 2, 2009. Preliminary total retail sales of $636 million for April 2010 increased 13.3% compared with total retail sales of $561 million for the same period in fiscal 2009.

First quarter same-store sales increased 12.0% compared with the same period in fiscal 2009. Preliminary first quarter total retail sales of $1.99 billion increased 16.7% compared with total retail sales of $1.71 billion for the same period in fiscal 2009.
