Angeles Mountain Partners, LLC (AMP) has acquired Mt. Waterman Ski Lifts, LLC, assuming management and operations. The company described it as “Southern California’s closest and most iconic mountain resort,” located an hour from downtown Los Angeles.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the property was listed as $2.275 million.

Founded in 1937, Mt. Waterman includes 390 acres of diverse terrains and a reported 40-plus inches more snow annually than the at Mt. High and Big Bear. The site is located near La Canada Flintridge.

“This acquisition marks a new chapter in the mountain’s rich history, with AMP committed to elevating the resort’s offerings while preserving its natural beauty and intimate atmosphere,” AMP said in a media release.

The company plans a phased renovation and revitalization strategy, including updated its snowmaking system, adding a tubing hill with a “magic carpet,” a glamping village with curated dining and Waterman100 membership opportunities.

“This is a special place, and most people my age (43) aren’t aware this area of LA exists. It’s a National Forest, and only an hour from the warming hut to sitting at the Dodger game,” said AMP Co-Founder Joshua Shelton. “We can’t control the weather, but we can manage how many people gain access to the absolute best conditions our resort will have to offer, and that’s an honor we reserve for the Waterman100.”
